Experiences in Spanish

The bachelor of arts major in spanish experience is intellectually challenging and supportive through excellent teaching, learning, research and service. Students learn to read and think critically, write and speak professionally, and to develop expertise in the spanish language and the cultures of the spanish-speaking world. The program is dedicated to creating the highest quality educational experiences and mentorship toward the production of outstanding scholarship that embraces the principles of academic freedom, variety of people and ideas, and a global perspective. Teacher certification from early childhood to grade twelve is available. Students in the major may participate in internships and student organizations and are encouraged to apply for nationally recognized service opportunities to contribute to their experience.

Continue your coursework in certificates in professional Spanish, business Spanish, Spanish for health professions; the minor in Spanish, the major in Spanish with concentration options in hispanic literatures & culture, linguistics, secondary education with teacher certification, and Spanish for the professions.
Consider the Teaching Assistant Program (NALCAP or similar program).
Consider taking a course in the Honors College.
