Experiences in Performance

The bachelor of music in performance provides preparation for performance and studio teaching careers as well as graduate studies in all music areas. Concentrations include classical guitar, instrumental (all standard concert ensemble instruments and strings), keyboard, and vocal as well as jazz. The optional minor in opera is available only to the vocal concentration. The optional minor in music composition can be added to any non-composition concentration. Students train directly with world class faculty in an intensive and nurturing environment. Facilities include the Performing Arts Center where faculty, students, and guest artists offer a rich calendar of performances. Membership in a choice of numerous ensembles is available to develop musicality. The student experience is enhanced through optional membership in student organizations, study abroad, internships, community outreach, and more.
