Experiences in Human Geography

a classroom

The bachelor of arts degree with major in human geography emphasizes the social science elements of geographical study. Human geography prepares students for employment in community outreach, public policy, sustainability, international aid and development, transportation and tourism, and social systems science. Students can tailor their personal interests by choosing from five minors: environmental studies, geographic information science, geography, geology, and nature and heritage tourism. Students may participate in faculty-led study abroad or Study in America trips, develop a professional community at association or networking events, or join student organizations for a well-rounded experience.
