The bachelor of science degree with major in health sciences allows students the flexibility to select courses within the health sciences toward either a clinical or non-clinical profession. Freshman and sophomore year students complete required coursework in the health sciences and may elect a clinical concentration. During their second year, they may apply to the clinical program to be admitted for their third year. Students interested in completing the BSHS major will take advanced level courses focusing on knowledge and skills needed for a non-clinical career in healthcare. Students are encouraged to research professional development opportunities, such as internships or paid employment related to careers they are interested in pursuing after graduation. Students have the option to participate in Education Abroad or Study in America for global and cultural enrichment. Membership in the major-related student organization or numerous campus organizations is also available for developing peer networks.
