Experiences in Dance BFA

a stage with students dancing

The bachelor of fine arts with major in dance performance and choreography is geared towards students who aspire to perform and/or choreograph in a professional dance setting or may pursue an advanced degree in the dance field. The bachelor of fine arts in dance with a concentration in performance and choreography requires an audition and focuses on advanced technique, creative research, and professional stage performance. The bachelor of fine arts in dance with teacher certification also requires an audition and prepares students for careers in middle or high school education (grades 6-12) through single or dual certification plans. The bachelor of fine arts in dance with a concentration in dance studies does not require an audition and offers curriculum flexibility tailored toward studio ownership, arts administration, or wellness. All dance majors may participate in ensembles as preferred or eligible. Optional participation in study abroad, internships and membership in student organizations enhance the student experience.
