Communication Disorders
Experiences in Communication Disorders

The bachelor of science degree with major in communication disorders examines the foundations of speech and language development together with the disorders that are encountered in speech, language, and hearing. Freshman and sophomore year students complete required coursework in the health sciences pre-CDIS concentration and apply to the program during their second year to be admitted for their third year. CDIS majors engage in challenging coursework and clinical practicum experiences. The department maintains a speech language hearing clinic which is open to the public and serves as a unique observation opportunity for students preparing for careers in the field. Students have the option to participate in Education Abroad or Study in America for global and cultural enrichment. Membership in numerous student organizations is also available for developing peer networks.
