Experiences in Bilingual Biliteracy Education

Teachers and teacher leaders in the bilingual/biliteracy level (early childhood through grade six core subjects with bilingual-Spanish) program complete the bachelor of science degree in education. Teacher certification is achieved with a double major in one or more disciplines including human development and family studies; family and consumer sciences; art; speech; choral, band, mariachi, or string music; dance; theatre; English language arts and reading; history; social studies; French, Spanish, or German; agriculture, food and natural resources; life science; chemistry; mathematics; and physics. Students may participate in faculty-led study abroad or Study in America trips, learn with peers in living and learning communities, develop a professional community at networking events, or join student organizations for a well-rounded experience.
