Experiences in Agriculture

The bachelor’s degree with major in agriculture is based on a multidisciplinary approach to expose students to the breadth of agriculture. Students take classes in agribusiness, agricultural mechanics, agriculture education, animal science, horticulture, and soil science. For elective courses, students choose electives across agricultural areas or may wish to focus on one of the areas described. Students may select a concentration in agricultural mechanics or horticulture. Teacher certification in agriculture, food and natural resources grades six through twelve is available. The department hosts strong experiential programming in research, service-learning and professional development, and students may participate in Education Abroad or Study in America for global and cultural enrichment, and as well as choose from numerous student organizations for engaging experiences.
